Trying To Lose Weight Can Be Tough
We all know it can be very difficult to lose the extra weight we carry around. Especially as women and men get older our metabolism starts to decrease. I just turned 47, and I've noticed since I turned 40, that my weight has increased every year. I was always skinny in high school at 98 pounds. Then in my 20's after I had two children I'd usually keep my weight maintained under 120 pounds. Once in my 30's I noticed it got a little harder and couldn't just eat anything that I wanted too all the time. Now I can just look at chocolate and gain a pound! Just exaggerating a little. 😊 The best thing to do to when trying lose weight is number one, drink plenty of water, half your body weight in ounces. Let's say you weigh 150 pounds, then you should be drinking at least 75 ounces of water a day. We should all be drinking the required amount whether trying to lose weight or not. Not doing so could result in dehydration which is very dangerous. We should be drinking water before we start to feel thirsty. When we feel thirsty this is a sign of dehydration starting, so it's very important to drink the amount you need according to how much you weigh. I do have one cup of coffee in the morning, but I drink water the rest of the day. If you have caffeine, be sure to drink twice as much in ounces of water as that cup of coffee or tea right afterwards, because caffeine dehydrates the body.
Number two, don't starve yourself.
Eat six times a day, three healthy in between meal snacks such as nuts, fruit, low fat yogurt, & three healthy meals.
If you need to eat in the evening, it's best to eat a small snack two hours to three hours before going to sleep. You don't want to eat right before going to bed because the body can't digest food as well at night and can cause weight gain, and want to give your body time to digest the food before going to sleep. Also try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Enough sleep has so many health benefits. If were not getting enough sleep it can lower our metabolism and cause us to feel more hungry the next day.
Some people can lose inches and not lose any pounds while dieting at first so don't get discouraged.
At least twice a week have a cheat meal, but no more than that. This way your not totally depriving yourself.
I have also been taking a supplement called B-LITE Xtra which is in another one of my blog posts. It gives me energy and boy does it curb my appetite! I'm still eating, but healthier, and drinking plenty of water. I've lost five pounds so far in six days! I'll keep everyone updated on my progress!
